Just returned from a wedding in San Francisco (a mixed marriage - Boy/Girl). Weather was cool in the city, hills getting tougher to walk. We also spent time with my niece-godchild Shauna, who resides in San Francisco and is expecting a child any day now. This should make me a God Grand Father and I'm quite pleased with the concept.
Thanks so much to Ms. Whiskey and Jan for posting and to the entire crew that was at Shenanigans over the 4th of July. There will be some excitement next week when we return to Ocean City.
The Big News...
Red Rodio and his kid, Banjoe, will be appearing at least one night - The Kazoo Family Players will be putting in an appearance along with Dr Bill and who knows what other surprises may take place. We Just love the beach...
And to Mr Murphy who has the old vinyl 33rpm Malone and Hutch album: it is only 31 years old. Personally, I would hold on to it for another 19 years and you would be sure to maximize the value. Ask me about it then.

The craic was great in the first week of July at Shenanigans. Most of the regular M&H crowd were there. The people you love. The people you hope every year to see. Makes life worthwhile. Not only The Boys, but Jim and Joan & Kerrie, The Twisted Sisters: June and Rosemary & Janice, Killer Bill and Sheila, Birthday Bob and Loraine, Pat McNamara('s Band) and Myra, Dr. Bill, Fran, The Kazoo family players ... It just doesn't get any better in life than that. I want to imagine heaven as a setting much like Shenanigans with us all there.
I would sure like to meet Jan and Michael, John and Kim, and Dave who post regularly on this site. Since we're die-hard fanatics, if we're in Shenanigans at the same time, we should sure get to know each other! Our next trip: Last week of July. Can't wait!
And again, Mr. Malone -- The Galway Shawl people are not going away.

Hi John and Kim! Good of you to stop by. I can hardly wait to get to the beach myself, it's bound to be cooler than the 99 degrees we've been having here in New England. So to help us through these dog days, there's a little surprise for the long-time hard-core Malone fanciers over on the CD page.

Memorial Day comes early this year. It used to be called Decoration Day, and until 1971 was always on May 30, a date "chosen because it was not the anniversary of a battle." Here's a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, first published in 1882.
Decoration Day
Sleep, comrades, sleep and rest
On this Field of the Grounded Arms,
Where foes no more molest,
Nor sentry's shot alarms!
Ye have slept on the ground before,
And started to your feet
At the cannon's sudden roar,
Or the drum's redoubling beat.
But in this camp of Death
No sound your slumber breaks;
Here is no fevered breath,
No wound that bleeds and aches.
All is repose and peace,
Untrampled lies the sod;
The shouts of battle cease,
It is the Truce of God!
Rest, comrades, rest and sleep!
The thoughts of men shall be
As sentinels to keep
Your rest from danger free.
Your silent tents of green
We deck with fragrant flowers;
Yours has the suffering been,
The memory shall be ours.

Hey Dan, great to hear from you! Bueller's not here (as usual -- he went out for cigarettes a few months ago, and we haven't heard from him since), so I'll have to answer for him. So you've decided to move back to Pittsburgh? I know it's just to be a little closer to Ocean City.

I'd like to know the name of the photoshop expert that managed to image a respectable tie around Mr. Bennett's neck! Somehow, this crafty lad or lass figured out how to remove the warm glass of gin from his hands too!! Lots of love frome Loveland guys - hoping to see you this summer ... once we find a leash strong enough for Big Guy!

The Guinness was flowing this weekend at Shenanigans, and Mike made some darn tasty stew. All that was missing was our Boys, and missed they were! So to Malone and the Lads and to all who love them, a blessed St. Patrick's Day. And with the "drowning of the shamrock" start counting the days until summer.

Doctors In The House: Bruce Springsteen played the Verizon Center in Washington DC a couple weeks ago. The Kazoo Family players were there in force. After the show, Dr.Bill and I passed like two ships in the night (actually like two guys drinking beer going in and out of the men's room).
Got my Malone summer dates on my calendar!
